BVI became an associate founding member of the International Token Standardization Association (ITSA).
BVI represents the interests of the German fund industry at national and international level. The association promotes sensible regulation of the fund business as well as fair competition vis-à-vis policy makers and regulators. Fund companies act as trustees in the sole interest of the investor and are subject to strict regulation. Funds match funding investors and the capital demands of companies and governments, thus fulfilling an important macro-economic function. BVI’s more than 100 members manage assets of some 3 trillion euros for retail investors, insurance companies, pension and retirement schemes, banks, churches and foundations. With a share of 22% in the EU, Germany represents the largest fund market as well as the second fastest growing market in the EU.
The International Token Standardization Association (ITSA) is a Berlin-based association of German law with more than 100 associated founding members. ITSA is a non-profit organization and special interest group aiming at the development and implementation of comprehensive market standards for the identification, classification, and analysis of cryptographic tokens.
So far various reputable organizations have already committed to join ITSA as associated founding members, reaching from corporates (e.g. Commerzbank’s Main Incubator, Bank Frick, MME, Börse Stuttgart) over associations (e.g. Bundesverband deutscher Banken, the German Investment Funds Association BVI), startups (e.g. Cashlink, solarisBank, CryptoTax, and Ambrosus) and universities (e.g. Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, University of Mainz, TU Munich, Hasso Plattner Institute or UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies in London) to private members (one of the co-creators of the ERC20 standard).
